154. Are who you are, schooling means nothing etc, but also... dude, where I'm from, homeschoolers are assumed to be much MORE CRAZY than others. It's just obvious - they must've had slightly abnormal parents to go to all the bother, and they probably learned WEIRD stuff we didn't get to learn at boring normal school, and... yeah. It's OK, you are weird after all!

As a former homeschooler myself, I'd just like to say, if liking Gilbert and Sullivan is the wrong kind of weird, then I don't want to be to be the right kind of weird.

As another former homeschooler....well, ditto. I like that I'm weird. Being homeschooled gave me the opportunity to go with my parents to India and live there for a while! Sure, I'm not normal, but whatever!

I like being weird, too, as it says in my secret. But I'd hate to think that I'm homeschooled-weird and not just weird-weird. I just seriously dislike the idea that it had any impact on me, because then I'll never be able to wash my hands of it.

And if you'd gone to public school, that'd have an impact on you, too. And if you'd gone to private school, that'd have an impact on you. No matter WHAT you do, life has an impact on you. Just be who you are and stop worrying about how you got that way. You're you, whether it's nature or nurture. (I'm honestly a little insulted at the idea that I have to somehow be ashamed of my background or feel like it doesn't mean my personality isn't 'real', if that's what you're trying to say.)
