113. Ender's a little more hardcore and calculating than Aang, I think. I'd be kind of afraid to be around him for very long. Aang is like a wacky kid brother.

115. Well, if the Venus of Willendorf is really a prehistoric fertility symbol--and mind, I didn't see the preview, so I could be totally off--then is it terribly implausible that there'd be more than one? Possibly of different sizes? I mean, did they say "This is the Venus of Willendorf, the one in the museums and all" when they showed it, or did they just find a huge statue depicting a fertility deity?

117. I do that all the friggen time. Huffle-Kaylee and Raven-Brain Guy FTW. Cameron is everything bad about a Gryffindor, IMHO.

136. Wow. Um. Horrible. And a bit disturbing. Okay.

146. Here's a secret--most Rose!fen feel the same way. Especially because it means we now get treated to a whole new deluge of OMIGSOH I H8 ROSE! in the fandom. Just when it was dying down.

146 - I agree with you. There's so much various companion!hate in the fandom, it's like STFU PLEASE D:

115 OP

There is only one. Since it's prehistoric art (and even using the term 'art' is a bit of a stretch, since there was probably no concept of art at the time -- 'prehistory' meaning 'before language,' so we are talking literally cavemen here), there were not really expansive tools for carving and what have you. Art historians believe that what the people of this time generally did was find rocks that had the basic shape of something, and then accentuate the details in order for it to fit the purpose they have in mind.

Also, we aren't really sure if it was a fertility symbol per se -- that is only one modern interpretation. Another interpretation is that it was just an early form of pornography. Either way, given the limitations of tools at the time, there is no way that there would be able to be exact copies of the Woman from Willendorf, never mind the fact that carving something that massive during that time (22,000 BCE, according to Stokstad, Art History Volume 1 2nd ed, New York: Harry N. Abrams, 2002) was impossible; there is nothing found from the paleolithic period that is that enormous.

idk, this is probably just a case of me overthinking this more than anything else. :(

I think so, on the overthinking. No offense. I overthing too.

But in the context of the story, there's a world of elder gods and demons and whatnot and things that existed before the dawn of time, etc etc. If the Willendorf (gotta stop typing that as Willendork) is only 11 cm high, and in the movie, it's enormous, then I'd guess in the context of the movie, there's more than one.
It's a magical world with dark forces and cults and wacky ancient things. Imagining that they had a really big statue for one reason or another doesn't seem like such a stretch.
