Um... wow. I can understand some of the thoughts behind your beliefs, but... well, you can't really do anything without a high school diploma.

I just... yeah, you'll be thanking yourself for buckling up and getting a diploma. That's not selling your soul at all.

Actually, it was me caring more about that stuff than my beliefs that made this a Bad Thing (tm).

I care about education. I just don't have a narrow view of it like some people here do. *Shrug*

I wasn't going to say anything until I saw that, but now I feel like I need to say SOMETHING. So yeah, here I go beating a dead horse.

It doesn't matter how smart you are, YOU NEED TO GET A FUCKING HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA TO GET A DECENT JOB. Your boss isn't going to care how much of a special snowflake you are, he/she is going to look at your credentials. And if you don't have any, YOU'RE FUCKING SCREWED.

It's not "narrow views", it's common fucking sense.

It's fine to be open-minded, but, shockingly enough, there is a way to do it and be rational at the same time. As many people here have said, it's not fair that we have to be educated a certain way. It's also not fair that we have to pay taxes or spend 40 batrillion dollars a gallon on gas, but that's what you have to do in this world in order to do the things you WANT to do. That's what being a grown-up means: doing things you don't necessarily like or believe are right so that you can function in society and/or have nice things.

It took me a long time to get this drilled into my head, but YES. THIS.

Any boss worth their salt, unless they've seen you make an impossible basketball shot while you thought no one was looking as you wiped the floors of the gym one evening, WILL NOT THINK VERY HIGHLY OF YOU WITHOUT AT LEAST A HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA. I, for one, do not want people who couldn't even graduate HIGH SCHOOL--which is FREE--making me french fries at McDonald's! Perhaps the fry cooks there are working to save money to go to a decent school or something, I dunno, but at least they finished their basic education.

You saying you dropped out because you were too zomg kool fur skool makes me less inclined to believe you did it because you objected to the education system than that you were just too much of a whiny, lazy kid. And it seems you haven't changed much.
