109: Just because something is really well done doesn't mean it's traced. My mother uses references all the time when she paints and the paintings come out looking exactly like the photo she too. It's because she has talent

I'm hoping you mean talent in the sense of sheer mechanical skill. Cause that sure doesn't sound like the other kind, sorry.

And yeah, judging by the overlay there I'm pretty sure that was traced.

she references off photographs and paints things that are a number of feet tall. I've been watching her do it since I was a baby. They look so good you can probably overlay like that even though it was hand drawn.

That's certainly news to me. Because it seems like "accurate" drawing seems to be praised, while stuff that is talented, but isn't *perfect* does not.

Actually it isn't impossible. Using a grid you can in fact do something like that, line by line. Heads up--they teach this in fucking art school. Get over yourselves.
