I don't really want to bring srs bsns in, but part of me worries about the move away from these jobs. Becoming dependent on other countries to wipe our asses for us is not a good thing.

That said, that person is still living with their head stuck up their ass. Yes, college education isn't for everyone, but if you don't have some sort of an education, you're just another nobody with no place to go.

Fortunately, dependency works both ways <3 Energy and fuel aside (as they're rapidly moving in the directon of not only independent but clean), countries that manufacture our stuff are just as dependent on us buying it from them as we are on them. You can listen to doomsdayers all day long about how China could just ask for money back and it would destroy us, but hell, Right now we're going through a big series of market corrections (that will only increase as the administrations change), and IMO it's kinda awesome <3

But yeah, education nowadays is important. Hell, my best friend dropped out of college because it wasn't for him, and now he's at MedVance getting a technical degree in lab work.

SO MANY OPPORTUNITIES that morons like this take for granted.
