Those "worthless degrees" you hate are more valuable than ever.

You tell me you didn't go to college, or dropped out of college, and I think, "They must've found their calling elsewhere, and gone someplace where their talents could be better applied," and I still respect you, because you probably went to fashion school or beauty school or something. A college degree is really nice, but hardly a necessity just yet.

You tell me you didn't go to high school, or dropped out of high school, though? Then...that's just stupid. I can't think of a single person whose made anything of themselves in my age bracket (people born in the mid-70s and up) who didn't AT LEAST graduate from high school.

Telling people you think a HS diploma is worthless means you were just too lazy to get one the first time. Yeah, the OP SHOULD be ashamed of themselves--for thinking they could get by in normal society without at least having graduated high school.

Right on point. There's a reason we see so many advertisements on TV nowadays for non-university career institutes; hell, my best friend dropped out of my uni to go to MedVance and get a labwork degree.

You can hardly even flip burgers anymore without a high school degree.

I wouldn't even want someone without a high school degree to flip my burgers, I don't think :/ High school is FREE. You can get that degree for FREE. College can be REALLY expensive, so I can always wonder if perhaps those burger flippers aren't just saving up to get out of that dead-end job, to go back to school and learn more about the world, open themselves up to opportunities.

Looking at the OP's other replies, though, it seems their logic is, "Well someone's gotta do it! Why shouldn't it be me?"

And that is just plain sad o__o

Fortunately, I don't eat flipped burgers. Though if I did, I doubt I'd want someone in my general age bracket who couldn't be assed to finish the most basic levels of education handling my food.

I think the OP is yet too young to realize the inevitable frustration that comes from working hard yet unstimulating jobs week after week with little payoff and the promise of not going anywhere.

I also hope she realized her error soon.
