Just inserting myself into the not-nucking-futs Rose fan camp. Can we have a campfire and marshmallows?

I too, have never seen any of these mythical "Batshit for Rose to the exclusion of all other companions" types, but I sure as hell have heard a lot of complaining about them. :D Oh, and when the most recent person-of-interest turned up in Silence in the Library, I read a whole bunch of "lolz, cue the Rose-fans bitching and frothing!" and, well, no actual bitching and frothing. :D

I admit I get a little defensive when someone really hates on Rose, but I don't actually say anything, it's more an internal wibble of "but but but..." :D

Haha to be honest I didn't like River, but that was more because of her incessant "I know something you don't know!" (it infuriates me when people do that to me, lol) and just ...her irritating me in general more than any potential future/past relationship with the Doctor interfering with Doctor/Rose. Mostly it was just "oh no, I am going to have to deal with you in the future?"

I quite liked River, in that the "I know something you don't know" knocked the Doctor off balance; I always like seeing him mildly discombobulated, because I'm mean like that. :D

Oh, I should've added that I really like the idea behind River, quite a lot -- the meeting-someone-before-he's-met-them sort of thing, because really, you'd think it would happen more often -- it was just something about her personality that irritated me. Perhaps she'll grow on me tonight, though.

Actually, you've reminded me of a point that disconcerted me at the time - it DOES happen to him, and probably quite regularly! See another Moffat episode, Blink. He meets Sally at the end before it's all actually happened to *him*, and although he's in a hurry, manages to cop to the fact that she's met him in his future, and goes with the situation just fine. Maybe River's just too intense and knowledgeable about him, and that's what weirds him out.

Like he said; great big brain, too full of stuff, needs new one. :D Except not really, 10, because I like your stupid shiny grin and your bounce and your shoes and that ridiculous blue suit. Don't regen just yet. ^^

Yeah, I'm in several Doctor/Rose and Rose comms, and I didn't see anyone frothing about River Song. Some people disliked her, but there was no rampant "omg the Doctor only luvz Rose" ranting. I've never seen that, except in jest.

I can understand people not liking her - I do like her, but then I have a thing for bright women who can keep the Doctor off-balance. :) Will be interesting to see what happens with her.

I was a bit turned off by her attitude about the spoilers, and how familiar and forward she was acting with the Doctor when it was obvious he wasn't digging it - but I'm a little protective of him, I guess!

Yeah, I've heard a million and one rumors about who she really is, so the next ep will be fascinating. My opinion of her could easily change, since we haven't actually seen that much of her yet.
