What habit do you wish you had never gotten out of?

(Anonymous) 2017-07-30 10:03 pm (UTC)(link)
I've realized I am no longer a content creator, just a consumer. I used to write nearly every day, and now I can't remember the last time I sat down and actually wrote a full something. I comment here and there, but that doesn't count. I came to this realization about a month ago and keep telling myself to change and just sit down and write, but it seems that once I got out of the habit of doing it regularly it's really dang hard to start again.

Reading books. I don't know why I read books so little these days! I guess it is a combination of fanfiction, podcasts, and audiobooks.

Oh goodness, yes! I was just texting with a friend and wrote "I don't really read anymore." And then five million sadface emojiis. Mostly for me it's a lack of time. I work, walk the dog, and sleep. I have a whole stack of To-Read books on my nightstand but never seem to get the time for.

This, but with me it's not just books. I can't read anything if it's lengthy in any way. I've gotten too impatient.

Studying German. I used to study on my own regularly and now I don't keep up with it.

Same as yours, really. I used to post fic semi-regularly once upon a time. Now it's more like once every two years :(

Years ago my roommate got a treadmill, which I didn't use. The roommate used it occasionally, but then one Halloween I covered it in a sheet and turned it into a ghost. It was still covered in a sheet at New Year, so I started walking an hour a day. Then months later I caught a bad cold, and then fucked up my knees, and stopped and never started again. Maybe I'll get my own treadmill since roommate will be moving out in January.

Lifting weights. I got in shape then stopped and I'd like to get back into it, but I'm lazy. :/

Reading literature for fun. Now I have to literally be strapped down for upward of several hours (like a flight) for it to happen.
