I'm trying to finally watch Code Geass, since it's constantly recommended if you are a Death Note fan. But one episode in, it feels like it's got all the quality of like Yu-Gi-Oh (no offense to that). The art isn't pretty, the plot isn't engaging yet and feels a bit generic, the smarmy protagonist is super cool and oh so smart but everyone has to tell me this rather than really showing it. idk. Everyone says it's good and so I want to like it.

A friend wanted me to get into Code Geass, and I tried. I really did. But something about it just never hooked me.
