I enjoyed it, but I think the key thing there was we needed to see a fully functional and controlled Infinity Stone in action.

The only one we've seen like that at all was the Mind Stone, which when humans are entirely capable of mind controlling people too is a little meh. Sure it created Ultron, but so what? We needed a set up of characters with demonstrably phenomenal cosmic power and then hold up the Time Stone as gamebreaking and even Dormammu helpless against it. Otherwise it's hard to get across how powerful these are when most of the powerful stuff we've seen so far has been 'blows stuff up, just... bigger'
