I'd be more embarrassed by the WWE than the fic that brought me to it.

Yeah, I can see why you wouldn't want to tell anyone that!

I sometimes forget if something is canon or if I read it in a fic and then when I'm talking to other people I will bring it up and suddenly wonder if it came from a (most likely smutty) fic. I'll tell people I can't remember if it's canon or was a theory/wish that someone mentioned during a discussion. "Wait, did this happen or did I hear about it at Katie's birthday lunch? Or maybe I read it on Facebook?"

that happens way too often for me. also, sometimes I want to share a premise from a fic, and I'll ma'am it by saying it was a short story or something I read online.

Tell us; it's the same with me. (And as a Dean/Seth girl it's so nice that the old foe-jay is stirring again!)

If you follow a similar path that my friend did (same situation) then you'll wind up in indie wrestling eventually and it'll get more awkward because those guys know all their fans personally and you'll be like "ahah yeah I didn't do much this weekend" while sweating profusely about the fact that you were slash-RPing them with their best friend.

Anyway, it's not that weird a way to get into wrestling.

how awkward, lol.

Not WWE, but i once met someone I only knew of because of fandom -- and only because I was looking at fancasts. It it felt too weird. I took a break from fics after that.

Why not? WWE is a huge, fun kind of fanfic anyway.

This secret is very cute and I don't personally think you should feel awkward, OP, considering that wrestling is all fake anyway.

Just keep on rocking on :)

You're probably not alone in that, OP. I mean there are lots of shows I've gotten into because I read fanfic first.
