I love actors and creators who don't take shit from the crazy and/or fandom police fans.

I also find it hilarious and love him for it but... controversial interjection here, I think if an actor in one of my favorite series shat on it as much as he does, I'd think it was really unclassy and in poor taste. I firmly believe that there's nothing wrong with loving Twilight, even though I think it's as stupid as the next person, and like, idk. You made lots of money off of it, lots of fans watched the story they loved through you, I think it's somewhat shitty to shit on them like that.

(though I have no idea what this conspiracy thing refers to)

I'm not and was never a Twilight fan, but there were definitely a group of "Kristen Stewart had Rob Pattinson's secret love-child" fans out there, who flipped out at every woman he was ever seen with in public who wasn't KStew, in really creepy invasive ways. Also apparently some fans thought he was really a vampire, but I didn't hear as much wtf stuff about them.

Nah. The twilight crazies are constantly trolling his girlfriend's, FKA, twitter and instagram leaving racist comments and going so far as to publically harass her because they think he's cheating on KStew. He's well within his right to call them batshit crazy and want them gone.

This. The shit they call her, JFC.

(Anonymous) 2017-08-02 12:41 am (UTC)(link)
Wow. I had honestly never heard about that. Now I don't really blame him for saying it.

(Anonymous) 2017-08-05 01:24 pm (UTC)(link)
Which is hilarious, because wasn't it KStew who cheated on him with that director and that's why they broke up in the first place?

(Anonymous) 2017-08-02 12:01 am (UTC)(link)
I genuinely like Twilight and I thought everything negative he said about the franchise was pretty hilarious. I love the interview where he talks about his first impression of Stephenie Meyer.

(Anonymous) 2017-08-02 01:09 am (UTC)(link)
link to that interview?

To be fair, the headline suggests that he's referring to a very specific subgroup of Twilight fans, not necessarily Twilight fans as a whole.

(Anonymous) 2017-08-02 12:06 am (UTC)(link)
Same, tbh, because those fans are as nutty as Larries are, with a big ole heaping helping of racism (against his girlfriend/fiancee FKA Twigs). They're the literal worst.

(Anonymous) 2017-08-02 12:10 am (UTC)(link)
LOL! That wasn't at all diplomatic, but he wasn't wrong.

I love that phrasing. It's so catchy.

(Anonymous) 2017-08-02 06:08 am (UTC)(link)
On one hand I have no love for Twilight. On the other hand I can't help but feel bad for the fans. I know if an actor/actress trash talked the fandom I'd feel like shit. Sure, there are a bunch of obnoxious fans out there but I feel sorry for the decent ones.

I think it's pretty rude for an actor to talk shit like that. Sure a paycheck is a paycheck and you don't always like the stuff you work on but at least try to keep in mind that some fans genuinely enjoyed your work.

(Anonymous) 2017-08-02 06:33 am (UTC)(link)
I think the world is worse for Twilight having happened, but his constant shitting on the fans is still obnoxious. How about he donates all the money he made off of making it to domestic violence charities or whatever. Then he can talk.
And to the people saying he just means the crazies, AFAIK he's been insulting the entire franchise and calling all fans stupid for years.

(Anonymous) 2017-08-02 08:31 am (UTC)(link)
I 100% support him when it comes to calling out the crazies who have no respect for his personal life and no ability to separate their fantasies from reality.

But as far as I know, he's been dismissive and contemptuous of Twilight and the fans in general, pretty much from the get go, and that just seems insensitive and cooler-than-thou to me. Like, dude, you don't have to like Twilight and you don't have to understand why the fans love it so much, but nobody forced or coerced you into playing Edward, so stop shitting on their parade.

(Anonymous) 2017-08-02 11:01 pm (UTC)(link)
Completely agreed on all of this. Well said.

(Anonymous) 2017-08-02 04:55 pm (UTC)(link)
lbr, if he was a woman, everyone would be calling him out for being ungrateful and a hypocrite

(Anonymous) 2017-08-03 02:36 am (UTC)(link)
they were already calling kristen stewart an ungrateful bitch for looking like she didn't want to be a part of it, so yup.
