How long does it take you to read a book?

Depends on the book. But if it is a book I am into, I am a really fast reader. I am also a super fast at skim reading. My teacher would have me scan books we were reading in class to find a specific passage or such.

I'm a pretty fast reader. I usually can finish a decent sized book in a few hours if I sit down and read in one sitting.

Depends. If a good book, I can read it in one sitting and it'll take me a few hours. A boring or bad book can take me days because I'll keep picking it up and putting it back down.

I used to be super fast but now I can't even get through a book anymore unless it has an audio book I can play while I'm doing other things. :(

It depends on the subject matter, but I am a fairly fast reader but I skim read a lot. It's usually about 100 pages an hour for fiction but much slower for most nonfiction.

Depends on the book. If it's something that grabs me, I can finish stuff pretty quickly unless it's fucking huge (I'm looking at you, Summerland).

on the other hand I think i've just given up reading Wicked. I love the prose but I now know that........ I hate Oz stuff so.

It either takes me a day, a week, a month, six months, or I never finish.

Way too long. I used to be a fast reader as a kid, now it can take me anytime from a week to a month, unless it's a super short book.

It does to some extent depend on how much time I have for reading. I do most of my reading on the train and then a little bit at home, so I don't have a lot of reading time most days.

Usually one at home and one at work for lunch. I've been doing more short fiction these days, largely because I don't have a lot of time, and the last time I got involved in some massive fantasy work I found myself picking up the volume with no clue as to who anyone was, what they were doing, or what culture they were in. Currently it's Magpie Lord in the evenings and Serialbox's Bookburners for lunch.

I read very fast. I can finish a book in a few hours, though I don't always have the time or attention span for it.

If I'm interested I'll finish the book that day come hell, high water, or social niceties.

If it turns out I'm not so interested I'll give it a good try for a couple days, but after a couple days it'll be abandoned in some corner, never to be opened again. Years later I'll find it and be confused about what went wrong.

Deadly Hallows took me 7 1/2 hours from getting home from the midnight opening to 8 in the morning.
