Fuck off with anything Tolkien. LoTR is way overrated and the fans are just too damn in love with their own totally unoriginal quirkiness. There's so many better stories out there, how about taking a chance on some new fantasy fiction; how's that for an edge? Are you all teenagers dependent on other people's approval?

I don't interact with Tolkien fandom and have no idea how they roll, but AFAIK Tolkien didn't sit down to write a fantasy novel, but to compose a fictive mythology. It's another genre.
