First thing that comes to my mind is riding a bike. Oh I tried at one point when I was about 11, but the place I was doing it had a lot of gravel and I was scared of falling and scraping myself up.

Actually my reason for never getting a driver's license was similar - I did have a Learner's for a while, but one of my practice drives through country backroads had me turning a corner too fast and freaking out and ending up in a very shallow ditch. After that I really did want to try again, so a lot of my transport up until a few years ago was handled by Mum until her vision got bad enough for her not to drive and car maintenance too expensive. Getting rid of the car was what got us to New Zealand, and public transport is not bad around here.
