I'm actually looking forward to the second season being a bit darker because there was so much potential for them to get darker in the first season and they didn't go very far. (Not that I didn't like the first season the way it was.)

Maybe part of it is that I'm not watching the show for the '80s atmosphere. I was a young adult then and ten years of the '80s was plenty.

Anyway, as long as it's good I'll be happy.

Yeah I found Stranger Things to be fine, not this OH MY GOD SUCH PASTICHE THEY TOTALLY GET IT OH GOD REMEMBER THE 80S SO COOL. The CGI monster really threw me out of the whole show, as did Ryder's performance, and I didn't care about the teens at all. "But but but they subveeerrrted your expectaaaations...!" So? I still didn't like any of them.

Of course, the kids were great, and Hopper was my favourite character. All praise toward them is deserved.


I'm currently reading Ready Player One and feel the same way. And it's supposidly "The Holy Grail of Pop Culture!!!11". Dudes, it's just namedropping shit. I thought we were better than this?

And yet. AND YET! I am looking forward to Stranger Things S2. The Thriller trailer hyped me up.
