I also heard that they were pretty far apart politically. I can see why that would ruin a relationship, given the current political climate.

Good point. He comes off as pretty religious and it's of the born-again variety, which can be overwhelmingly obnoxious. If political conservatism went along with that (like it often does) I'd nope on out of there, too.

Yeah, I've heard the rumor, but never seen anything re: a credible source. But if it's true, that's dump-worthy in my book.

He credits God for his son's health (he was born prematurely and they thought he'd have a lot more developmental issues) and is the kind of guy who thinks every good thing that happens to him is a divine blessing. Which doesn't sound bad initially, except when you consider that it's kind of arrogant you believe an omnipotent deity has singled you out for a life of fame and riches and blockbuster movie hits while elsewhere, children die of starvation.
