How dare people on a comedy show try hard to be funny!!!

(Anonymous) 2017-08-16 12:07 am (UTC)(link)
Trying hard is different from trying too hard.

Did you not read the secret? Because there's a big difference between trying and trying too hard. People who try TOO hard usually end up not being as funny as they intended.

I love that it introduced me to a number of comedians that wouldn't have ever been on my radar who are funny as hell. Now I can look them up and attend shows if they ever come my way.

I definitely didn't love all of the comedians, and there were a number of try-hards who I rolled my eyes at. But dammit, now I know who Emo Philips is.

I'm glad you found out, but yeesh, it's a crime that it took @midnight to introduce you to Emo Philips.

There were a lot of comedians/celebrity wannabes who were on there that weren't funny. But there were also some who were very funny. I'm going to miss the show, as hit or miss it could be.

Yeahhh, after a point I stopped watching unless there was a female comedian in the episode in an effort to escape the endless circle of unfunny dick jokes.
