I put two of these books on my to-read list. Not the middle one, though, it seems kind of generic.

Ooooh, thanks! Based on the secret, I'll have to check it out. I lost interest in DW but suspect that if the current fandom hated this arc I will probably really enjoy it.

People didn't like those episodes? I didn't know that. Maybe the way they were ultimately defeated was a bit of a let-down, but not nearly as bad as others in DW history. And I definitely liked the simulated world episode. It was different and unexpected.

I loved those episodes too, especially the first one. I understand that the ending was too cheesy for some people, but it's not the first time the power of love saves the day. People should be used to it by now.

I thought they were far better than some of the villains in S9.

I loved the first episode but then I didn't think there were enough new ideas in the other two episodes to justify a 3 ep arc. That's a big chunk of a series and I felt we could have been spending time on something that wasn't reusing stuff we've already seen in New Who.
