I am sure there will be some movies coming out around when Thor: Ragnarok comes out to capitalize on the name.

My knee jerk reaction is to agree, but then I think about it and I'm not so sure. I'm beginning to realize that trying to find content I like in mythology based media is kinda impossible. Myth characters are almost like public domain OCs, everyone has their own takes on them.

I'm just too picky over the characterizations of mythological characters to enjoy them. :(

Except Hollywood would piss all over it AGAIN and it still wouldn't be recognizable from the original. There's lots of humor there, yes, but it's less of the tea-spoon-fed type we get in the "Thor" franchise and every other US take and rather a lot of the opposite: understated jokes that you miss if you blink. And the historical background is also well documented and researched, there's no need to make up a plastic cheap-o fantasy of that.

In theory, I'm totally down with that, but in practice I'm not really sure how that would work. I'm not confident Hollywood would do a good job of it, especially because they'd want to do mythology with a modern twist somehow.
