She was just so so wonderful.

(And gdi she absolutely had me in tears more than once. Such a great casting choice.)

I think this is in the wrong spot.

You didn't like the fish they cast?

(Anonymous) 2017-08-19 02:41 am (UTC)(link)
That's Tunalock for you: so wonderful!

Tuna!Lock is one I hadn't heard of before. (Where did that even come from?) I can't help but giggle at this kind of thing. It makes me happy. Fandom needs to be blatantly silly sometimes because it's always a little silly anyway.

(Where did that even come from?)

It was a satirical response to the people who were hating on Fawnlock and some of the fandom's other AUs. Back around 2013 there were some fans who just didn't want other fans to have a sense of humor, I guess? IIRC some of them even tried to argue that Fawnlock was being disrespectful to people's nature-based spirituality...or something? And Balletlock was offensive to ballet dancers because it made light of how painful and difficult being a ballet dancer really was. That kind of stuff.

And it was all so ridiculous that Tunalock got invented in response, basically just doubling down on the silliness factor.

"Balletlock was offensive to ballet dancers because it made light of how painful and difficult being a ballet dancer really was."

That's reaching.

Well, you definitely right about Danny

I'm a huge Matt fan tho so :(

This is becoming the misfire thread.

Defenders but with tuna!lock instead of Danny.

Yeah, fandom seems to not really be into crack as much as it used to be. God forbid you poke fun at characters, because then people will just sent you messages to kill yourself. (And yes, I've seen this happen.)

I completely agree with you, OP. I really miss the super cracky days of the Sherlock fandom (and wold totally welcome that kind of crackiness in other fandoms as well). The Sherlock fandom used to be crazy in such a fun, nice, inventive way. Back before TJLC and most of the wank. :(

This was some of the best stuff to come out of that fandom imo, but overall things seem to be taken so seriously in fandom now.
