I didn't have a problem with her acting in this scene. It may not have been the most dramatic and intense acting ever, but it worked for the character and situation.

It's far from the worst acting I've seen in a Star Wars movie, anyways.

Haha, talk about damning with faint praise.

I didn't really mean it that way. I meant that I don't understand why I've seen so many complaints about her (IMO respectable and suitable for the character) performance, when the Star Wars series contains so many infamous examples of laughably bad acting that the fandom treats as being part of the charm.

I agree with you. It's been very odd to see, to the point where I often wonder whether I've seen a different version of the movie.

I think it may be that Jyn is...very unusual for a female lead. The disconnection and feigned apathy are more like what people are used to seeing from male leads.

IMO both Jake Lloyd and Hayden Christensen got much more criticism for their poor acting ability than this actress. In Lloyd's case it was particularly unfair because he was only a kid.

I agree with you 100%. I don't get this fixation on her and the talk as if she is the worst Star Wars actress ever. Sure, she wasn't perfect. But it worked for me.
