What are some of your favorite ficitonal universes?

(Anonymous) 2017-08-19 09:14 pm (UTC)(link)
How would you change them? To make them more realistic, darker, happier, etc. Give your AUs based around the world at large not just one character.

Watching the premiere of the Ducktales reboot has made me realise how deeply ingrained the Disney Duck comics verse is in my psyche. I'd love to see more epic stories such as Don Rosa's works. I think the flashy Italian Paperinik comics might've had some of that.... I want more serious stuff, I suppose, even though that's not at all why those comics exist.

Now that you mention it, there was also a serious (Italian?) take on Mickey the Detective! I liked those, but I'm not sure how long they lasted.

Always Pokémon haha. Wouldn't change much except maybe major plot happenings so the world's a little more cozy.

Animal Crossing too. Imagine being able to pay your mortgage on your own time AND having cute animal neighbors.

Pokémon was my first thought too. I was going to say I'd make it that older people could go have adventures like the kids do but there are actually a large number of cool older people in Pokémon.

I wish the hunters on Supernatural would create some kind of network. I get they all want to be 'long wolves' or whatever bullshit but they would be able to save so many more people if they would just communicate.

At least make connections with more law enforcement that can help them out. They almost had that with Victor but there is no way there are not more law enforcement aware of the supernatural.

Middle Earth. I'd make it more racially diverse (in terms of real life races). That's about it. I love it the way it is mostly. Well, I'd probably increase the possible roles for women.

Star Wars can stay the way it is, but I'd keep the Episode VII characters, but stick them in the pre-NJO EU universe because I like that better.

Babylon 5. I would change nothing.

Star Trek. I don't think I'd change anything.

I don't think so? In spite of some of the issues I have, ME is my favorite fictional universe. I just love it.

That's cool. It is always nice to find other fans.

I really like Community. I like the idea of there being a college out there where you can take a class called "Can You Fry It?" and "Climbing Ladders." I like the idea of the Dean being more like a well-meaning, over-obsessed, totally whacky father than any sort of educator. Community was also really good about incorporating AUs into their canon story-lines. It was such a fun show to escape into!

I need to finish Community! I still haven't seen the final season, and I think there's chunks of other seasons I missed, too. I always loved it, though - especially the ridiculous-sounding courses, and total crack eps :D

Definitely pokémon! And I wanna change it so kids can't actually go on adventures by themselves when they're like 10, and that there are schools which teach more than just type advantage.

Middle Earth is probably my top favourite, I like Thedas though I feel the cultural landscape can be troublesome.

My other favourite right now is my own invention, primarily inspired by Middle Earth.

I'd make pokemon look a bit more like the more prominent animal it's based on. And maybe do a few things from the earlier versions of the PokeSpe manga, but that'd be about it.

ASH, as far as the show is concerned, would have ACTUALLY aged up and he gains a TON of experience as far as battling is concerned. alos, as far as his teams go, he will make it a thing that, if it calls for it, he'll use previous pokemon and just make sure he uses everyone at some point. And each new series, the female character would match in age. Which means, by like...Diamond and Pearl, he's in his mid/late teens and he TOTALLY get with Dawn.

HE WINS THAT TOURNEY IN SINNOH. THAT MEANS HE BEATS THE HAX0R DUDE WITH THE LATIOS AND DARKRAI. DAWN WINS HER CONTEST TOURNEY AS WELL. BC

Misty actually DOES what she says she wants to do and grows out of her 12 year old girl crush.

May pretty much does what she does in show. I may have hated her wishy-washy-ness, but it added to her growth.

Iris, from what I remember of her run though I never finished her series, she was basically another Misty. So she does the same as Misty and actually DOES what she sets out to do, not follow Ash around like a love-sick puppy.

Serena we'll keep the same, but when she sees Dawn, she knows she has no chance. Sorry girl.

Brock and Misty probably become a thing. I always did kind of like them.

JESSE AND JAMES LEAVE TEAM ROCKET AND BASICALLY BECOME A TRAVELING POKEMON COUNSELING THING. They do so well with the misfits in the pokemon world, so they do that. They still try to kidnap Pikachu from time to time, but it's more...playful as opposed to serious. Just to mess with Ash. :P Jesse ALSO becomes quite the polished Contest trainer and competes with Dawn, but if there are double battle contest tournaments, she teams with her. James ends up making his own versions of poke blocks, poffins, poke-puffs, etcetera. He ends up doing so well he becomes a popular maker and he ends up setting up shop in the major cities of the regions. He'll still travel with Jesse sometimes, but they don't mind if he stays at one of the shops more times than not. Meowth helps him.

Gary basically stays the same, but he doesn't DISAPPEAR after the May series. He's still there, occasionally run into his best friend-former rival. They still battle each other, but he helps Ash out and vice versa and he travels doing his studies.
