Shit, I'm involved in my fandoms, but my cats are named Callie, Dusty, Freeway, and Joey. NORMAL-ISH NAMES, THEY'RE NOT SO BAD.

Just the way they worded it made it sound like it really was something creepy. It's not like no one ever names pets after their interests; I wanted to name Joey "Motley" after Motley Crue (because that's one of my favorite bands, and because she's a calico, and motley means multi-colored), but then my brother stuck her with Joey. One of my best friends named her cats after... I wanna say world leaders or dictators or something, and I actually think that's the neatest idea ever.

But honestly, to me? Naming pets after fictional characters from TV or (ew) anime is a bit odd... but that could be because I'm very picky when it comes to naming my pets and wouldn't want to name what is basically a family member after someone in a fandom. I think, "What if I come to hate that show someday? Damn dog/'s learned its name, so fuck, it's stuck with it :(" And I wouldn't want my pet carrying the name of a character that I once loved and now hate.
