Though honestly, if it's making you miserable, you can also feel free to just get rid of them. Sell them, give them away, donate them to a game shop. No need to hang on to stuff that's just getting you down.

Thirding this: just toss 'em, OP. They're not gonna net you huge bucks on Craigslist or anything - take 'em to your local donation place with some clothes or books or whatever that you're getting rid of, or just drop 'em in a dumpster.

I mean - pretending they belong to Charlie is cool and all, but they're just dice. Free yourself!

Agree with others. Unless they're some kind of super-rare-can-never-get-them-anywhere-else dice...you're not going to make much money off them, if any at all. If you know somebody that likes to do tabletop RP, you could just give them away otherwise throwing them away is perfectly fine.

Maybe turn it into a ceremony of cutting the last thing that connects you to that person in your life. Maybe replace them with something else that reminds you of the character?

Honestly, if you have to reimagine their origin just to avoid those negative associations, I'd just throw them away or give them away to a nerd in need. How valuable is a bag of dice, after all? It's not worth it, sounds like.
