I loved 90% of this episode as usual. The interactions between the Wight hunting party were great. Especially Tormund and the Hound. But now I ship Tormund and Brienne JUST when she is heading to King's Landing.

I really hope Arya and Sansa are actually working together to play Littlefinger. Otherwise, Arya is being an asshole and it is super annoying.

I am glad the only person who died was that guy I don't even remember. Though, I blame the Hound for fucking around with rocks and alerting the zombies to the ice being thick.

And I blame the dragon's death on Jon and his hotheadedness. Like, stop fucking up the zombies and just GO. No reason for you to keep killing them.

And wonders never cease, this was literally the first episode where Emilia Clarke impressed me with her acting and made me interested in her characters. All the talk of her not being able to have children makes me think there is going to be a Jon/Dany baby in the future.

Also, trading one wight for a dragon was a shit trade. Now Jon and Dany have to read up on strats against ice dragons.

I can't talk about this episode because it's going to be 90% wailing about Viserion, I just... I can't. It's too soon.

(I mean I was totally expecting it at some point but still, LEAVE THE DRAGONS ALONE, IT'S BAD ENOUGH YOU KEEP TAKING THE DIRE WOLVES AWAY).

I enjoyed the episode but I have to say there was a lot of stupidity to the point that it took me out of the episode sometimes (and I usually try to suspend my disbelief pretty hard when watching GOT).

- The writers don't seem to understand how harsh cold weather works.
- I hope Jon can't die from magic and has some weird super powers because everything about him getting out of the water back onto the ice to how they tried to make him better after was just super not realistic. Even if he can't die because of magic there's a whole lot wrong with the fact that he could pull himself out of that.
- The whole plan to get the wight was stupid in the first place. They should have had Dany and her dragons come in the first place. They knew the white walkers had an ARMY and they had literally no plan.

And for Arya and Sansa I am getting frustrated with Arya. I love her but she's being both an idiot and a psycho.

I agree somewhat. I can see now the point was (mostly) getting Daenerys to believe and be fully on board with destroying the white walkers. They could have had a less clumsy way of going about it though...

I did get a little frustrated that all dragons were there and could have taken out the Night King right then and there. I'll just assume there was a lot of confusion going on and/or Dany's priority was making sure Jon and co. were safe.

Dany was already getting to the point where she believed though, the main issue was her not wanting to abandon the war with Cersei (which has already begun) and for them to find a way to some sort of compromise or cease fire in order to take care of the White Walkers first.

But even Dany not believing could have been taken care of by her flying a dragon up there (because apparently it doesn't take that long lol) and seeing for herself. Even if they weren't going to take Dany just the total lack of a plan at all was frustrating. Like they were lucky they caught the one they caught because it just happened to be the one wight who wasn't destroyed when the white walker was killed.

IDK if the Night King can be taken out with dragon fire though, someone brought that up elsewhere and I know that fire hurts the wights but the night king didn't seem bothered by it.

I'm not 100% convinced Dany was convinced. Sure, she saw the drawings, and she let Jon have the dragonglass, but it was still more important to her that he bend the knee. It's like she heard his story and saw some evidence, but she wasn't really getting it. Seeing the undead beyond the Wall was the kick in the pants to get her to realize the threat was great enough, and shift her priorities.

If Dany didn't believe, then she wouldn't care unless there was a reason compelling enough, and therefore would have no reason to fly up north. But I agree the lack of a plan was lame.

There's no reason the NK wouldn't be destroyed by fire at this point that we know of. But only time will tell.

I knew we were in for a ride after that midseason episode, and it has been nonstop since.

I'm actually digging the idea of Dany/Jon. Not necessarily in a sexual way, though I could go either way on that. I just like the fact they're finally starting to understand each other. I like this emotional thing that's building between them, whether it's familial or romantic or something else. Sucks that Viserion had to die for it to happen, but... I guess they had to find a cheap way to even the odds between the living and the dead, right?

The banter between Tormund and Sandor was A++.

Arya's behavior has me concerned but I do hope it's deliberate and that she does have something up her sleeve.

That's right, Brienne... get your Tarth butt back to King's Landing already.
