Re: What characters had the worst story arc?

Martha love!

I agree, but I also feel like she came into her own during the emotional rejection and turmoil she had with 10. I feel like she develops alot more as a character to the point where she walks away from him ...and who walks out on the Doctor?

A part of me always side eyes her season, wondering if he was acting up because she was black (arguably, he's an alien and probably dgaf, plus Jack+Martha turned out to be a cute thing) but I know that it's mostly because he was still hung up on Rose. Martha, unlike Donna and Rose, pretty much has her shit together. He doesn't even really need to save her. her whole time. It should have been named "Paging Dr. Jones: A Crash Course in saving the world, A Time Lord, and learning to love yourself more than an alien ever could". I just feel like she would have gotten along better with 9 or 12. I fucking love Martha. They did her dirty, sort of.

I agree, she really did come into her own and grew as a person (despite the Doctor in this case) in her season. That's probably why Martha's is my favorite Companion ending (in NuWho at least because I know there have been Classic Companions who've walked away on there on there too), because she choose to leave on her own terms, and more or less not look back.
