I said "in some cases." But a lot of the stuff that you hear about was either a) blown out of proportion or b) taken or told out of context to make him seem scarier.
It actually had a purpose. The majority of the victims were thieves, liars, or people who threatened the security of the country.

I think you're missing the IN SOME CASES part.
I didn't say there was a justification for everything. I said some things.

I didn't post so you could pull your morality out on me. You're not telling me anything I didn't already know, and I'm tired of repeating myself.

What morality? I thought we were talking history, unless you think what he actually did was right.

It's not like anyone else at that time period was much better.

I think that, in some cases, it was justified. The Ottoman Empire was on the brink of taking over Wallachia, and so yeah, maybe he did persecute people for having a different religion. But in the same situation? Hell, I'd probably do the same thing. At least it'd get the message across. So maybe he was a little extreme. At least someone was willing to stand up to them, hm?

He's still considered a hero in Romania.

Like I said, he was a bastard but everyone else was about just as bad.

...if you'd do the same thing in the situation, I don't think I'll be voting for you.
