Yeah, I hated her ending. A powerful ancient demon that's been through as much as she has, and she dies like a noob? It's like they knew the finale was kinda weak after a weak season and needed more death to wring the tears out of the audience.

I actually liked her end. She unceremoniously died in battle. That is what happens to most soldiers.

I'm still bitter that it was Andrew rather than Jonathan who survived. I loved Jonathan.

I believe the actress asked for her character to be killed off in the final just in case there were any more spin-offs or such because she didn't want to come back.

huh, apparently i'm the only one who couldn't stand anya. i like her slightly more in retrospect, but that's only because i hate buffy's other friends more.
