So much this. People really internalize the whole "forgive and forget" concept and want to smooth things over so badly, but they don't seem to realize that pretending everything is okay isn't going to work in this instance. Someone who treats people like shit and never apologizes or gives any hint that they realize they're wrong and need to change aren't going to magically become better people just because you decide to put up with their shit.
