No, they are not.

Because one, vitamins are an incredibly broad category of chemical compounds, many of which are useless (and some of which are actually harmful) to take at increased dosages because your body can only absorb so much, so if you exceed that threshold, which you may well have met just in your normal diet, you're basically just making sure you have very pricy pee. And two, even those vitamins that do help support immune function (which is not all of them) do so over the long term, so even if the overpriced miracle cure you've been suckered into buying is remotely helpful, it won't actually be effective until way after your cold's run its course.

The best way to treat a cold is to drink plenty of fluids, get plenty of rest, treat the symptoms if necessary to achieve the first two, and go to an actual doctor if it drags on past a reasonable recovery timeframe, the symptoms are particularly severe, or there's reason to believe something nastier's snuck in through the back door while your immune system was otherwise occupied.
