I kind of agree and disagree.

Do it every day if you like it but don't force yourself if you don't feel like it because it will only create unnecessary stress. To improve you have to look for any mistakes you made (i.e. drawing eyes too separated from each other, really pointy chins, limbs too long, noses too small, etc.) and try to draw them into something you like or want them to look like. It's kind of a moot point if you keep drawing the same thing over and over if you're going to make the same mistake over and over.

Also realizing that some people create their own style by taking parts of someone else's style and adding them to their own. Something new and original CAN come out of it.

Also have fun doing it. Drawing should be something you genuinely enjoy, not something that makes you feel down and miserable. Improvement comes with time AND refinement.
