why do people hate on her? she's pretty, I enjoy some of her music, and yeah... why are people so invested?

is it because she's younger? is she "riding on his coat tails"? And i say this as someone who felt affronted when Depp got with Amber Heard (pre abuse allegations) but had to applaud her -- she probably had his poster on her wall as a kid. Um, why is that funny? Plenty of artists have their spouses perform with them from time to time. Believe it or not, there are a lot of folks who are musically inclined. Just because a backup singer just happens to be a spouse does not mean they have less of a right to be there than anyone else.
