Couple of CDs an ex - boyfriend lent me.

A book. I knocked over a glass of water on it, and the drawing on the cover started falling apart in little pieces. I was mortified and I never gave the book back to the friend I borrowed from. I stopped talking to them too.

I've had a Netflix disc for three years. I can't find it. But I recently moved so SOMEONE must have found and boxed it for me.

A Tom Hardy biography, The Fire Gospel by Michel Faber and a copy of In Bruges. I legitimately just forgot I'd loaned them out from the library and found them under the bed last week. It's been a few years. My library probably has hitmen out for me by now.

I feel super awful about this but.. my grandma loaned me her typewriter for writing stories and kinda forgot about it. And now she...uh probably wouldn't remember she even had one.

I see it in my closet and it weighs on me because not only do I feel bad but its a reminder that someone I used to have a relationship with my grandmother and now she doesn't even remember who I am.

I know, I'm awful. But I'm still stuck in that stage where I'm wondering why they did nothing to protect me from an abusive situation, and not feeling all the butthurt and resentment over what could have been a much better life.

You shouldn't feel awful, anon. It sounds like you have a pretty good reason for not wanting to be in contact. I'm estranged from my mother and sister and after what they did I'll be quite happy not hearing from them ever again. If not having them in your life is healthier for you then I say go for it. Wishing you well. x
