Very true.

Or adults who are looking back and reflecting on their own teenage experiences, where it might have nothing to do with how they relate to teens in the present as an adult.

And there are other relevant differences -- say, the casting that often happens with teenage characters. If some of the students in Glee are supposed to be 15 in a certain episode, but they're all played by people who are 20 or older, are adult viewers not supposed to be attracted to these actors in their 20s?

That's never (as far as I know) an issue with characters who are supposed to be 7.
