They're just so convinced if they just monologue and me-too enough we'll suddenly go "SHIT! You're right! Shipping Sherlock with Watson on the bottom because Watson is child coded is wrong and immoral and I should feel horrible about it." They're just so so disgusted at the idea of adults having a healthy grasp of what's ok in fiction and what's ok in reality.
