Well, at least with Jessica Jones and Luke Cage, they both clearly enjoy rough sex and as superheroes with specific abilities that fit in with that, it makes total sense for their sex to be a bit rougher. Frankly, the fact that she gives as good as she gets and clearly enjoys herself makes their scenes really hot to me.

I really liked their sex scene. It was so obviously played as enthusiastic consent—particularly in contrast to Jessica's violation at the hands of Kilgrave—and a "take that" to everyone who thinks that enthusiastic consent can't be sexy.

I agree.

Agree with philstar22 that it made sense with Jessica and Luke, even though I can understand not liking it. But Luke and Claire I keep thinking holy crap, wouldn't he have to be careful he doesn't break her ribs or pelvis?

Yes! When Luke just got back and they're doing it in the kitchen, I kept cringing because all I kept thinking about was 'Slow down! Ow ow ow! He's going to Break You!'

It does feel part and parcel of the sort of... Grim Maturity vibe that the Netflix shows on Marvel seem to go a little bit too hard on for my tastes.

I never finished watching IF but I don't remember any sex scenes in DD (not saying there wasn't any, just that nothing comes to mind). Jessica and Luke's scene seemed to fit them though.

IIRC there was one in season two of Daredevil.

There was a Matt/Elektra scene in a boxing ring that was pretty rough with throat-grabbing. Also appropriate for the characters.

Danny and Jessica had a very sweet and tender one, which really stands out as an exception.

They come off more rough than overly violent to me, but I get that can put people off anyway, and echoing philstar in that the Luke/Jess sex scene didn't bother me because they were on equal footing in that regard.

But I also didn't mind the Luke/Claire and Matt/Elektra sex scenes either, though I did wonder if Claire would get bruises from that.

The violent sex scenes are seriously the only good thing about these shows.

0/10

It's not my thing either, OP, but it usually makes sense for the characters, and also fits in with the overall tone of the shows, so I just go with it.
