Now that summer's nearly over...

Did you get to do all the things you wanted to do? What stuff do you want to accomplish before autumn?

Had no goals this summer. Succeeded.

Same. It would've been nice to go to Hawaii but there wasn't time/money, so.

Fully separating finances from an abusive former "guardian" and changing my name, but I know it'll be a while still.

I also want to secure a path in the field I want, but again, there is complicated shit that I wish weren't so complicated. Namely, I don't want to jump ship recklessly because I basically have zero people to depend on.

Good on you for getting free, anon! I hope you can find people to be on Team You, so to speak. :)

We have summer for like eleven and a half months here, so we've still got a few months to go before winter descends. The only goal I had was to pass my tests, which are next week, so fingers crossed.

Pretty much. Moved in, and put in more plants than I expected to--and two fruit trees!

What kind of fruit?

A pear tree and a peach tree. Both dwarf self-pollinating, bought at local nursery. They're both doing well so far.

Dude I've been wanting to get a fruit tree for the longest time, I'm jealous. I know I wouldn't be able to take care of it though. I got a cactus as a housewarming present and I couldn't even keep that alive. :|

I'm a bit of a fruit tree nut. All I can say is: TRY. At first they need watered a lot. After they're established, they can kind of take care of themselves, although if you're responsible you'll probably prune sometimes, maybe fertilize, etc.

I convinced my parents to let me have an apple tree back when I lived with them. It's going strong ten years later! All organic and we leave it alone, no real care except some haphazard pruning. The apples are delicious despite lots of bugs nibbling at them.

(I think if I was really great with fruit trees I'd be able to help it fight off those pests, but the point is that sometimes fruit trees can thrive and provide awesome fruit even without lots of care, once established.)

Dude, it's free food. But I think most of all I just love trees.

Now that I haven't been in school for many years and have no kid in school either I really don't consider summer a separate time in the same way I used to.

However I did want to start writing again and I did that so I'm happy about that. Still almost all fanfiction but fanfiction is good too.

I didn't really have anything particular I wanted to do. Like someone else said, I'm not in school, and I don't have a kid in school so summer isn't particularly different than any other time of the year.

That said, I did go to the state fair, which is an end of summer tradition for me and my dad, and that was fun.

As for anything else, I'm not really sure. It's been a weird summer because it's usually super hot here and there have only been a few really hot days so it kind of feels like it's barely been summer, and now it's almost over. It's strange.
