End of the world AUs where the characters actually die. I only want happy fics 99% of the time.

When I was in the X-Files fandom, I loved apocafic, and could handle emotionally devastating character death fics like a boss. Then I moved on to other fandoms and now I just can't. The pain is too great. I'm not sure if it's because, with The X-Files, you basically always knew colonization was endgame, or whether I'm just a wuss now.
