What hasn't been as tasty as you'd like lately?

My Whataburger grilled chicken sandwich that was ruined with enough sauce to.drown a small creature and the coffee shake from the same place that barely, *barely* tastes like there might have been the slightest hint of coffee steam that passed by the general direction of my shake.

Pomegranates. They are also so fucking hard to eat.

Gyros. I had one at a concert and it was amazing. Never had one that good since. I think I just thought it was that good because I was dehydrated and starving.

I feel that way about brisket sandwiches. I had an amazing one at a barbecue place, and washed it down with a local craft beer. It was satisfying but I was pretty iron-deficient at the time.

I found a gluten free California Kitchen frozen pizza this weekend. I used to love the brands normal pizza. It wasn't bad, but I definitely prefer Udi's.

Bought a honeydew melon this afternoon, brought it home and started cutting it up, and it was way too tough to eat. UGH.

Even more disappointing because the one I got last week from the same place was melt-in-your-mouth perfect.

I hate it when that happens. I remember getting a lot of clementines that were wonderful one year, then the next year, they were all shit.

Mexican Fiesta pizza from Dominoes. Looked awesome in the picture with a zigzag drizzle of "sour cream and paprika" sauce. Got it and the whole thing was completely flooded edge-to-edge with the stuff and it tasted like cheap salad cream. Ech.

Peaches. Must have been a bad year for them. I've had some good nectarines and pluots, though.
bur: It's an octopus with a bat from Pirate Baby's Cabana Street Fight 2006. (Default)

I found some incredible peaches. The best, ripest, juiciest, flavorful peaches.

Everything since has been dry, mealy shit.

...screw you, peaches.

My partner and I tried making a fish soup recently but we used premade fish stock, which was a bad idea. Super fishy (you know, in the bad way) and I ended up not liking it much at all.
