I'm the anon you were originally responding to.

What's wrong with some hyperbole? It's one of language's more colorful and fun aspects. Being strictly literal all the time generally makes for boring reading.

OP seems particularly incensed by thigh gaps, which are often seen by feminists as a symbol of unhealthy female body issues. Women who strive for them as a goal often enter the realm of eating disorders (which I agree is not good).

In the case of a cartoon though, the shapes are already exaggerated to achieve dynamic silhouettes which are part and parcel of the medium.

You're jumping to the conclusion that OP sees it as a feminist thing.

A lot of hyperbole I see lately online involves jumping to conclusions and acting like the person you're responding to expressed the conclusion you jumped to.

Maybe it's "colorful," but it's also getting really tiresome.
