You give me too much credit. I would interpret it that way because "dog whore" in any literal context doesn't make any realistic sense as an insult

The situations happen in real life, sure, but someone meaning either of those two things when they use the phrase "dog whore" is less likely than the meaning that they really adore dogs

Yes but is that the first thing you'd guess? No, you would assume the person is an asshole because almost nobody uses that term literally

Same with being a slut or whore for whatever

See now, if someone called another person a dog slut, I would conclude that they fuck dogs.

Like, far far more than the normal amount.

NAYRT, but I'd think dog whore= someone who just loves dogs, but dog slut= a slut as ugly as a dog.
