Like I said in a comment above, I was harsh. It's definitely a wonderful school in-series. I meant to say it has a lot of flaws, and isn't perfect (as OP seems to think it is).

True. I wouldn't call Hogwarts safe or anything, I just think whether someone would genuinely want to go has a lot to do with whether it's better or worse than their home life, and Harry's view of it was very rosy because of his home life. Other students might not find it a haven the way he does.
