Petty thoughts

There's a BNF in one of my fandoms who's constantly posting about how hot she is and how every guy she know wants to sleep with her, and she can never go out in public without constantly being hit on, and it's obnoxious as hell. And the thing is...she's posted pictures of herself, and she's not insanely attractive or anything. She's not ugly, just really plain, and dresses like a frumpy super religious middle aged lady.

And normally I don't judge people for their looks, but when they won't shut up about how hot they are and how everyone wants to bang them, I think it's fair game.

I know this is petty, and I feel bad about it, but ugh, I just want her to shut the hell up.

dudes have been known to creepily hit on not particularly attractive ladies tbh.

not saying she's not overblowing things, but maybe it's happened a few times and she's got it into her head, etc.

also different places have different "standards" if you will.

for instance i've never been catcalled, but i don't disbelieve other women who say they have been, a lot.

I don't like judging people based on looks either but I can't blame you under the circumstances.

I once had to sit through a conversation with someone who said she couldn't make female friends because they were all so jealous that she was so beautiful. She was a very good-looking woman, I'll admit that, but I think it's possible she wasn't making friends because she was so incredibly stuck-up.

I'd say that's more likely, TBH. I have a friend who is naturally gorgeous, like European model gorgeous, but she's also a very sweet, outgoing person and she has tons of female friends. My experience has been that women don't tend to get jealous of other women who are pretty unless those women are going around flaunting it everywhere and/or trying to use it to their advantage. If they're nice people who also happen to be pretty, no one cares.

I suspect you hit it on the nose. I've known girls like that growing up and it definitely wasn't their looks that kept them from having other female friends... it was their snotty attitude and catty behavior generally.

Maybe being delusional her only joy in life? Or maybe it's true she gets hit on a lot regardless of what she looks like? Who knows, really. Maybe it's like a Catholic schoolgirl thing.

If that person was in my community, I'd probably block or ignore them eventually.

Sounds like she might have some self-esteem issues going on? I get how annoying that can be to listen to, though. I once had a girl (blonde, blue eyes, large chest) yelling at me because I was being flirted with and I had "brown hair, brown eyes and small tits" so was automatically inferior and he was clearly "missing out" by not hitting on her.

I'd assume that she's trying to psych herself up in terms of self-esteem. I wouldn't say that's the best way, though. At best, it sounds extremely immature.
