The part where op dismisses Harry Potter as a childish series because it's a school story, but loooves other school series, might have something to do with this comment. Just perhaps.

Where? OP just says they don't have any romantic notions of school and they don't understand the interest in reliving school years. I think the OP is misunderstanding the appeal of getting a Hogwarts letter (which has nothing to do with going to school and being young, but finding out you are special and finding a community), but I don't read dismissal of the series in the secret at all.
