Re: Aside to my thread up there about Dog Whores and Dog Pimps

Women involved in the prostitution industry are not fucking respected.

Really, so "Madam" conjures up images of Violence, Rape, Forced Drug use, and all other kinds of abuse? Or are those connotations INFINTLY more associated with the word Pimp?

While men have turned "pimp" into a word that somehow equals respect and coolness

Only in a very specific context, Like "Thug" has also become a word associated with a cool disregard for the law, but it, like pimp, is hardly respectable. It is like saying "You excel at being disreputable" You might find that cool, but you would not use that persona to get a well paying job.

Likewise a "Pimped" car is more showy, but it is by no-means respected by car enthusiasts. it is considered remarkably un-classy and vulgar.

Pimps are gross, madams are respectable, now I'm thinking maybe they are not the same thing - I.E a pimp is not just a male madam, in which case, I wonder what would be the word for a male madam?
