That's completely irrelevant. First of all, I doubt he was honoured for the realism of his portrayal, merely the fact that it's not offensive or stereotypical (which has far more to do with the writers/directors than Cox himself). Secondly, I don't think they were too concerned with the visual elements, for obvious reasons.
