My pap smear. It was painless and over quickly.

Mine was a lot worse than expected. My doctor did everything they could to make it easier for me, but once it started to hurt a little bit I jumped backed and than started crying. I couldn't stop crying but realized how ridiculous I was being so I was laughing at the same time. I honestly felt really bad for my doctor. She was so awkwardly apologetic.

Yikes, that sounds awful.

I once had a uterine biopsy. All I can say is that I really, really hope they drug me if I have to have one again.

At least she was apologetic and not a jerk about it. The first time I got a pap smear the doctor kept snapping at me for moving even though I kept saying that it hurt. Finally she sighed and wondered if she needed a smaller speculum, like really, you think. Things went fine after that but I've never gone back to that doctor again, it just angered me that she kept acting like me being in pain was a total inconvenience for her.

ugh, some of those damn speculums are made for women who had like six kids one right after the other.

I'm glad it went well for you! One of my friends recently got her first pap test and she was super nervous about it, but barely felt anything and said it was over very quickly. Mine, on the other hand, felt like something was trying to slice me in half.

God I wish mine had been painless.

It doesn't help that unless I'm turned on NOTHING wants to go up there and the nurse who did mine got impatient and just shoved it in and it fucking hurt, I had to put a thin panty-liner in my underwear when I got home because I was even bleeding a little.

I've got to schedule another one soon and I just don't want to. :/

(I will though, it needs doing I just get super-anxious over things when I've already had a bad experience).

Yikes!

I'm sorry you had that experience. That nurse acted like a real jerk.

Ooh, yeah, my first one was really no big deal too. I was sort of embarrassed/nervous, and she just handed me a magazine with a laugh, saying that no matter what was down there she'd seen worse, and it'd be over before I even finished an article. She was right! And it barely felt like anything.

I was kind of awkwardly... goopy for the rest of the day, though, haha.

That's awesome, I'm glad it went well. I keep putting mine off which I know is stupid but I had several bouts of surgery for horrendous Bartholin's cysts a couple of years ago and the idea of being poked and prodded again is just noooo. I'm promising myself I'll get it over with sometime next month. :/
