Equating the new fringe of fandom that wants to eradicate everything problematic with American puritanism is really fucking weird to me. You know a big chunk of what the fandom police is after shows up in mainstream American media all the time, right?

All the time? Really? Well, fandom's public enemy number one right now seems to be age gap ships (esp. involving teenagers), and I can't think of too many mainstream examples of that. Ditto incest, dubcon, power imbalance issues. I can name some examples if pressed, but common in the mainstream???
