I don't care about gender imbalanced casts. I like shows with lots of men. I have trust issues with men in real life, so fiction fills a void for me and gives me hope that there are real men who are as good as my favorite characters.

I don't care about gender imbalanced casts either, although for different reasons. I don't have trust issues with men, I just like interesting characters, regardless of gender. If they're men, cool, if they're women, cool.

I feel like too often shows add female characters just because they get criticism that there aren't enough female characters, and they end up just being a love interest for one of the male characters and having no personality of their own. So I don't think there should be more women just for the sake of having more women. If the female characters are going to be shitty characters, then obviously those writers don't know how to write female characters and I'd rather they not do it.

Writers who are capable of writing awesome women by all means should do so, but if they can't I'd much rather they stick to writing guys.

... I read "gender imbalanced cats" and was so confused yet intrigued at the same time.
